Bill Cosby and Kim Jong Un go Great Together!!
Thursday was a great day for breaking news across the country and world. Bill Cosby was found guilty on all three counts of indecent and aggravated sexual assault against him. He dodged the legal bullet last year when a jury was deadlocked on the charges. Kim Jong Un became the first leader from North Korea to cross the DMZ in 65 years. As recently as six months ago, Mr. Un was shooting missiles all over the place. I hope the world can breathe a sigh of relief that nuclear war can be averted. Finally, Joseph James DeAngelo Jr. was arrested and charged as the Golden State killer. He terrorized that area of the country for years and at one time was a member of the police force.
I guess comedian Hannibal Burruss can be credited for helping to finally bring Bill Cosby to justice.
Amazingly, even with a net worth of almost $400 million, Bill Cosby was still performing. I guess he had this insatiable need to be in front of audiences. At seventy five years of age he could have been enjoying the immense fruits of his labor. He had gone on his tour denigrating low income African Americans. He had received numerous honorary degrees and had buildings named after he and his wife. He was 'America's Dad' to many of us who started watching his work with 'The Cosby Kids' Trying to balance wholesome Jello pudding shilling celebrity with the accused sexual molester will take time to figure out. His conviction was not based on racism. He used drugs to get sex from unsuspecting women. He even cursed at the prosecutor who wanted to immediately revoke his bail. The real Bill emerged. Cased closed.

I am so happy that North Korea doesn't feel the need to start World War III. Their leader had not left the country since he had come to power. He had some of his inner circle, including an uncle, murdered for lack of loyalty. He considered the U.S. an evil empire. He had missiles pointed at South Korea and would have done immeasurable damage in the case of a nuclear attack. The 2018 Olympics were the start of North Korea's entry into diplomatic relations. Kim Jong Un's sister represented the country at opening ceremonies and led the charm offensive. The leader took a train ride to China a couple of weeks ago and ever since then I have been amazed at the attempts to relate to the world as if we are not all trying to take his lunch money. Talks with the Trump administration are tentatively scheduled for later this year. Godspeed on peace and stability in that region.

Michelle McNamara was an author who wrote about the Golden Gate killer. Unfortunately, she passed away before his capture. This suspect brutally murdered people over the course of twenty years from 1978 until 1997. He then stopped committing crimes. It is reported that investigators used DNA and genealogy charts to try to track down this murdered. True Crime is a book that will probably receive revived interest now that the suspected killer is behind bars. It is amazing how many serial killers operated in California during the last few years. The Grim Sleeper, The Night Stalker and The Hillside Strangler are all real people who murdered unsuspecting individuals with a vengeance. Hopefully, the arrest of the Golden Gate killer will let people sleep easier.

As I begin this Friday, I wonder what the news will bring. God Bless the people of Toronto as they begin to bury the victims of the heinous killer who mowed down twenty-five people with a rented moving van. The suspect is thought to have had a hatred of women. I am enjoying the NBA playoffs. The Bucks and Celtics are going to a Game 7. The first round of the NFL draft was last night. My Eagles traded out of the first round. Spring weather has arrived. April was generally cold. Michael Cohen asserted his 5th Amendment rights against self-incrimination. The Stormy Daniels saga is not over. Other than that, Happy Friday!!
